Berks County Crime Victims Rights Annual Walk
Saturday April 24, 2010
Beginning at The West Reading Playground
Registration 10 AM / Walk Begins 11 AM

 
Crime Victims' Rights Walk
In Partnership With
Non Violence Week
"Walking Together to Promote
Fairness, Dignity and Respect."

  • Information tables from various social organizations, law enforcement, churches and community organizations will be available.
  • Kathleen Sheeder Bonanno, mother of Leidy Bonanno who was murdered in 2003 will be speaking and signing her book of poetry 'Slamming Open the Door'.
  • Several recognition awards will be given for those who have gone above and beyond to help victims of crime.
  • A Dog demonstration from the West Reading Police Dept., and a self defense demonstration will take place.
  • Free hot hogs and beverages.
  • The Tribute Quilt in honor of crime victims will be on display.
  • Activities such as facepainting, A West Reading Firetruck will be on site, The District Attorney's Forensic vehicle will be present, McGruff the crime dog & Screwball the Phillies mascot (12 to 1 pm)
  • There will be some free giveaways and the first 80 people in attendance will receive a free tee shirt.
  • A balloon release with a song by Melissa Trupp Brice will conclude the day.
