Berks County Crime Victims Rights Annual Walk Saturday April 24, 2010 Beginning at The West Reading Playground Registration 10 AM / Walk Begins 11 AM
Crime Victims' Rights Walk In Partnership With Non Violence Week "Walking Together to Promote
Fairness, Dignity and Respect."
Information tables from various social organizations, law enforcement, churches and community organizations will be available.
Kathleen Sheeder Bonanno, mother of Leidy Bonanno who was murdered in 2003 will be speaking and signing her book of poetry 'Slamming Open the Door'.
Several recognition awards will be given for those who have gone above and beyond to help victims of crime.
A Dog demonstration from the West Reading Police Dept., and a self defense demonstration will take place.
Free hot hogs and beverages.
The Tribute Quilt in honor of crime victims will be on display.
Activities such as facepainting, A West Reading Firetruck will be on site, The District Attorney's Forensic vehicle will be present, McGruff the crime dog & Screwball the Phillies mascot (12 to 1 pm)
There will be some free giveaways and the first 80 people in attendance will receive a free tee shirt.
A balloon release with a song by Melissa Trupp Brice will conclude the day.
