Audrey Giannotti
Audrey was shot and killed in the same room her two young children were sleeping. She was 20 years old. Her children were unharmed.They will now have to grow up without their mother.
One Year Anniversery
Audrey was found dead by her Uncle in a basement bedroom inside a Laureldale Home. She was shot once in the back of the head. Laureldale Police are investigating.

Audrey and her boyfriend returned to the house from a birthday party in Reading on Saturday 12:30 a.m. Audrey's Uncle awoke around 2:30 a.m. by the smell of smoke and found Audrey's body.

A 36-year-old Lehigh County man was charged with first-degree murder and related charges in the 2007 slaying of a 20-year-old Laureldale woman The arrest followed a Berks County grand jury investigation.

Man Arrested, Charged In 2007 Shooting Death Of Young Mother Victim Was Sleeping With Young Daughters At The Time
A 36 year old friend of the family occasionally stayed as a guest at the home where Audrey was killed. In 2010 authorities asked to see his gun; testing proved conclusively that his gun is the murder weapon.

Hard work clears innocent man After a grand jury provided very little new information, Detective Shenk reviewed the people who were in the house when the homicide occurred. The review led to the charged, who when asked in 2007 if he killed Giannotti, replied: "Hell, no."
A second look at the evidence disclosed that the charged owned a 9 mm handgun. On Oct. 25, Shenk and Sgt. Gerardo Vega got the weapon from thecharged house and turned it over to state police to examine.
By Thanksgiving the results were back. The handgun matched the bullet casings found at the murder scene.
"I was ecstatic," Shenk said. "I am glad we were able to give closure to the family."
