Erin was a Kutztown University junior studying for a criminal justice degree - had a 4.0 grade point average and an internship lined up with the FBI when she was killed.
Erin was a passenger in a westbound vehicle on Kutztown Road in Washington Township at 8 a.m. Oct. 12, 2002, which drove through a stop sign at Route 100 and into the path of a southbound van.
The driver of the car had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent and she was 19 years old. Under PA law the legal limit for adults 21 years and older is 0.10 percent.
