Kathryn 31, had just filed for divorce from her husband in May and moved into a townhouse in Cornwall Terrace with her two young children. On November 7, 1999 her estranged husband came to her home, shot and killed Kathryn and her friend Justin Dusko, leaving her two young children sleeping upstairs.

Kathryn's estranged husband was charged with breaking down her town home door on August 29th, 1999 Charges were dismissed at her request on October 5, 1999. She then applied for a Protection from Abuse order but withdrew it on October 12th.
