Roy Metz Murdered November 4, 1972

Roy, a 58 year old Reading Auxiliary Police Officer and owner of his own painting business was getting ready for retirement.

He never got to see it, or enjoy his Grandchildren.

He had three sons and a wife. His wife died in 2002 never knowing who killed Roy.

November 4th, 1972 Roy and his wife went out for dinner, then drove looking for a tavern called The Village Inn. They stopped at The Seven Stars Hotel in Shubert, which is about 15 miles from Hamburg. They went inside asking for directions. After a few drinks, they headed back to their car.

As Roy walked around the back of his car, his wife heard him yell. She got out of the car to see her husband holding his chest. Roy had been stabbed. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where he underwent heart surgery. He died the next morning.

Help find Justice for Roy

This murder happened a long time ago. Time doesn't lessen the pain that Roy's family carries. Maybe someone overheard a person talking about this crime. Maybe someone was scared to talk about it at the time. Thirty four years has passed, and the truth is still what is needed the most.

If you know something, anything that can help bring Justice to Roy and his family - Please speak out!
