Willy J. Tineo-Ferrira
15 years old
September 12, 2010

Willy Tineo Ferrira
Willy was a sophomore at The Citadel intermediate high school. He had his whole life ahead of him. He had a good heart and was loyal to family and friends. He will be missed.

Willy was walking with two friends when four assailants confronted them at random, demanding money and valuables.

The two boys with Willy ran.

The attackers, all under age 21 were drinking at a local bar,  punched and kicked Willy until he fell.

# then pulled a handgun and fired several shots into the boy's chest.

Police recovered eight shell casings.

Police are investigating a possible link between the four suspects and a gang.

"It doesn't seem like he had any prior dealings with the defendants that would have caused any anger. It was a completely unprovoked very heinous attack on his life," said Reading Police Deputy Chief Mark Talbot.

Juan Tineo, Tineo-Ferreira's father, told Judge Scott D. Keller there was no reason for what happened to his son.

"He was the type of person who participated," Tineo said, speaking through a Spanish interpreter. "He had a lot of friends. If someone said something he didn't like, he turned the other way. As far as I know, there was never a complaint about him."
